Escape to Great Wolf Lodge

GWL snow This weekend I took the girls on a mini-vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. If you have never heard of it, Great Wolf Lodge is a mountain-lodge-themed hotel whose main draw is its indoor waterpark.

As we drove up Friday evening, we hit the "wintry-mix" forecast for the Charlotte area. It snowed and sleeted all night long. It was a good thing that this place has everything you could ever need because there is no way we were going anywhere on Saturday.

Jet ski

We spent most our time exploring the indoor waterpark. Miss H had a great time in the Toddler Pool playing on the pretend jet-skis and going down the little slides. She wanted to go down the big kid slides, but she was too small to go down them by herself. Miss H also enjoyed the wave pool. I held her with the water about waist high and whenever a wave would hit us, she would laugh hysterically.

When we weren't in the waterpark, we were either eating at the buffet style restaurant, playing in the arcade or Cub Club, or back in our suite watching TV taking a nap. There are lots of other activities geared toward the elementary and middle school crowd that we did not participate in. We had so much fun with the limited amount that my two year old could do, I can't imagine how much fun a family with older kids would have.

If it is any indicator, Miss H slept in until 9:45 this morning (almost 3 hours late!), and she took her regular 2 hour nap this afternoon. Long story short, we are EXHAUSTED!

What fun!

I so want to go. I didn't win that giveaway. :( But, maybe I can talk Hubs into going. Concord isn't that far and I think my boys would love it.

I don't know if we've already talked about this, but my bro and SIL live in NC. They are from Kernersville...is that near you? I think that's somewhere near Charlotte, but I could be wrong...as I've never been to visit them! LOL

Sounds like you guys had a great time.

P.S. I'm following now! ;-)

Oh what fun!
I want to get out there soon. I may plan something closer to Spring when we're not dealing with all of this snow and NC being on lock down. Lol

* Let's keep our fingers crossed that we don't get what they're forecasting for this weekend.
