The third week of Advent is meant for rejoicing. Our priest had us sing a hymn during his homily yesterday and I have had it in my head ever since:
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice! Again I say Rejoice!"
It is based on one of the scripture readings from this past Sunday:
Philippians 4:4-7 (New American Standard Bible)
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
This passage really spoke to my heart. I tend to be anxious about many things, and this was the perfect verse for me to hear.
I saw this on Faith and Family Live! today and it really made me happy. I hope you are enjoying your preparations for Christmas, and I hope you are spending some time in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season to prepare your heart as well.
