Three years ago today, my life changed forever. I gave birth to a 4lb-13oz, 32 week preemie. My husband chose her first name and I picked her middle name. She was tiny, and oh so perfect. During the following three weeks, I learned the struggle of a mother to a NICU baby: pumping round the clock, eating hospital food, worrying incessantly about her progress.
Over the last three years, Miss H has grown into quite the little lady. She loves to play pretend with her princesses, to have tea parties, to climb on the jungle gym, to do anything just to be like me.
I had no idea when I gave birth that my heart would begin to reside outside of my body. I would move heaven and earth to keep her safe, keep her healthy, and keep her happy. Here is a little photo essay of Miss H's first three years.
