This or That Tuesday - Week 2

The Winey Mommy

Do you buy your makeup at a discount/drugstore or some type of specialty makeup store?

This week Chelle wants to know where I buy my makeup. I am all over the place when it comes to makeup purchases. Waaaaay back in the day I was a Mary Kay kind of girl, in fact, I even sold the stuff. {Please don't judge me.} Those were the days when I had 20 minutes to stare at myself in the mirror and apply three different shades of eyeshadow and such. In the here and now, not so much. I am lucky to get any makeup on at all before I head out the door with preschooler, baby, diaper bag, keys, and cell phone, to run errands, get to the doctor appointment, make preschool drop off, attend playdates, or head to church.

Really who has time for makeup? Oh, you do? I'm jealous.

Anywho, I digress. My makeup of choice these days is BareMinerals from Bare Escentuals which you can either buy online or at one of their boutiques or at Sephora. I love that it only takes 5 minutes for me to look refreshed, and if I spend 5 minutes more I can look "made up." I am not above shopping at the drugstore for CoverGirl, Almay, or Loreal either. It just depends on what sort of makeup mood I am in. And right now, I am in a BareMinerals kind of mood. When I decide that it isn't worth the price, I'll be back at Walgreens.

Where do you shop? Head on over to The Winey Mommy to read more This or That Tuesdays!

I'm impressed that you could do the 3 eyeshadow thing in 20 minutes?! I've been reduced to no makeup or, if I want to be really fancy, I wear Neutrogena tinted sunscreen. :)

I wear Mary Kay right now...the mineral powder foundation. How does that compare to bare minerals?? My MK rep just moved away.

I shop the make-up aisles at Wal-mart, lol! So you like bare minerals? I've been wanting to try it, but I haven't dared to. Which products do you use and which do you like the best?

I've never been a make-up girl. It feels too heavy on my face. But, I can see the wrinkles forming so one day soon, I may have to give it a try.

Popped over from SITS, great post!

I used to buy any make up from anywhere as a teenager and now I am a mature mum I tend to buy better stuff, especially foundation. I can apply in 10 mn: foundation, blusher, 3 eyeshadows and mascara, lip liner and gloss and not to forget a spray of my favorite perfume. I can assure that that it was not always like that and I've had my share of months with not even moisturiser when the kids were little!!!

Sorry I had a long answer, because I wanted to encourage you to persevere and keep looking after yourself especially with little ones around and a very handsome husband. You deserve it and they love you more for it!

Come and visit, I like chatting as you see!!!

Happy blogging! xxx

I might have to try that stuff. I really thought that bare minerals took a while to apply. I haven't tried it because I thought it would be too complicated.

I've tried the mineral makeup but I don't think I apply it correctly--I need a pro {like you!} to help me in that department :)

I have to put some makeup on. Without? Scary, scary, haha!

Thanks for linking up chica--and every time I come to your blog the colors make me so happy!

You are supposed to wear make up? On your face? I totally forgot how to do that! :)

just kidding although I would say my two most often used products are sunscreen by nutregena and lipgloss from bath and body :)

I wear make up every day for work-- I wouldn't if I thought I could get away with showing up fresh-faced, but in TV everyone is so glam I would really stand out.

My make up of choice is Physician's Formula. Their stuff is really light weight, like I'm not wearing anything at all!

FYI - QVC.com have FAB deals on Bare Minerals!! I always find I can get a powder and new brush for the same price you pay retail. Check it out...

IF I wear makeup, it is quick. I use the Philosophy airbrush foundation puff thing because it goes on soooo quickly. I throw some blush on my pale white face and then some lip gloss.

I only get all "made up" about once a month IF I have somewhere to go.

The mineral foundation from MK (I use it now since a friend started selling it) is actually quite good but they don't have a loose finishing powder and I prefer my kabuki brush from b.e.

Most of my makeup is MK now, to support my friend, but if I need something in a pinch it's Walgreens or CVS for whatever looks most promising!

I've been wanting to try Mare Escentuals. I'm thinking of trying to Maybelline mineral make-up, we'll see. I never have like Mary Kay. I think that's a kind of mak-up you either LOVE or HATE. Nothing in between.

I used to sell Mary Kay -- I was HORRIBLE at it. :(

Bare Minerals makes my skin itch -- especially the more humid it is outdoors.

I stick with the cheapies: Cover Girl, Loreal, Max Factor, and Maybelline.
